Poetry「Not Orthostatic, Still Drowsy」(2023)

You and I are different.

You have orthostatic intolerance, and I tend to oversleep.

Even though it’s morning,

I’m still quite drowsy.

Everyone is different.

Everything is different.

The water flowing in the river

is never the same.

And this river’s water,

or perhaps the water of another river,

creates the world.

When I turn thirty, how much were we sleeping?

Early rising is said to be a virtue.

But what is early rising?

What is the virtue of it?

Take your time sleeping, everyone.

Come by in an hour,

my dear friend.

When you rise,

and wake up to a pleasant morning,

I’ll be wide awake too.

Don’t worry, I promise.
