Himakajima is an island located in Mikawa Bay. Administratively, it belongs to Minamichita Town in Chita District, Aichi Prefecture, and the entire island is part of Mikawa Bay Quasi-National Park.
According to the 2015 national census, the population was 1,896, spread across 607 households. The island is promoted as the “Island of Octopus and Blowfish.” Together with Shinojima and Sakushima, it is referred to as one of the “Three Islands of Mikawa Bay” or “Three Islands of Aichi.”
