Takeshima is an uninhabited island located in Mikawa Bay, off the coast of Gamagori City, Aichi Prefecture. Although it is approximately 400 meters away from the mainland, it is accessible via a bridge. The entire island is designated as a natural monument and serves as a sacred area of Yaotomi Shrine.
Takeshima is part of the Mikawa Bay Quasi-National Park. In addition to the bridge, the island becomes connected to the mainland during low tide, making it a so-called tidal island.
